In the first phase you take a card from the supply and place it in your personal playing area. In the second phase, all dice are rolled and players choose 2 dice. Each player takes the number of resources on that die equal to the result. The result indicates how many you can take, but also how long it takes before you can use the resources in a round (turntable). Then you turn the wheel, you receive all the resources for that round and you can perform actions. There are 8 different actions that can be performed in an order and combination of your choice. Try to take over blocks of houses in the city and transport the extracted resources to the various ports with your freight ship. You receive points by delivering goods. The house blocks earn points at the end of the game. Progress on the Amstel earns points but also contributes to the order of play in the rounds. By activating cards you receive benefits during your turn, but you also avoid penalties when you have too many cards under your player board. The main mode of Nemesis: Aftermath is Epilogue Mode, a short (45-60 minute) 5-turn game played after a regular game. As this epilogue begins, an unspecified amount of time has passed since the events that took place in the base game of Nemesis. The ship bears many scars from its previous travails, so remnants of your previous playthrough will have effects on your epilogue playthrough. An epilogue game is much shorter than a regular Nemesis game, but it is more difficult and offers a very dynamic playing experience. Instead of objectives, players must deal with seemingly simple personal requirements, while trying to work together to tackle various alerts. Additionally, players who pursue more selfish interests may accept lucrative offers. On your turn you can either take a specialist action or a hero action. Specialists are friendly creatures that can perform a specific action for you. And the hero is you. When you perform a hero action you must first move, and then you can visit a location and perform the action depicted on it, fight a monster or investigate a location. In the introduction you do this by turning over a chip, but you can also play 6 chapters where you read the stories from a storybook and can make choices that have all kinds of different consequences for the game. You can also get missions in this game, and when you complete them you can hand them in at a location for the rewards. Combat is simple in Now or Never, but with a twist. You have four slots for attacks, which you can upgrade during the game. During a battle you roll a D4, and that determines which attack you perform.
