During the game you can decide whether you want to join one of these nations, which will give you several benefits. However, nothing in life comes for free and your actions may make you enemies with some other nations, causing their ships to come after you and try to sink you in the ocean. Can you be a pirate and become an ally of another nation? Naturally! You will sign a letter of marque with that nation and you will become a privateer/pirate. This way you can make mischief, but be loyal to the other nation and leave their ships alone. As the game progresses, the sea and wind may not always be in your favor, a storm may surprise you. What if the wind suddenly stops or there is a low tide? We must be ready to deal with both our enemies and the ever-changing weather.
