Viticulture has been a hit for years and is therefore included in the BoardGameGeek top 25. In Viticulture, the goal is to make wine. You do this by planning the various actions in the summer and winter as well as possible. You have to build buildings, upgrade your stock and guide visitors around. Only then can you be the first to reach twenty points and have a chance to win Viticulture.

Viticulture Essential Edition

For a few years now, the Essential Edition of Viticulture has been out, which differs from the previous editions in a number of ways. For example, everyone gets a Papa and a Mama card, on which you can find your starting capital. As a result, everyone starts the game with different resources and Viticulture is more diverse than ever. You can also choose to sell your fields (temporarily). You will then have less space to grow grapes, but you will get a nice bit of money for it. This way you have an advantage over the other players and you can, for example, build buildings quickly. All this makes the Viticulture Essential Edition indispensable for the lover of a good worker placement game.

Viticulture extensions

And as it should be with a good game, Viticulture also has various expansions. What do you think of Viticulture – Tuscany for example? In it you will find three different expansions for Viticulture. For example, there is a board expansion with 36 wooden stars, there are building cards and special employees. Viticulture – Visit from the Rhine Valley is also an expansion to the base game and offers you a new set of eighty visitor cards . These cards focus less on victory points, but more on making wine. They all have a unique back, because they have to be played without the other visitor cards. The latest expansion is Viticulture – Moor Visitors. In Viticulture Moor Visitors you will find 40 new visitors that you can combine with any other version of Viticulture. They are made by the creator of Viticulture (Jamey Stegmaier), Alan Stone and Uwe Rosenberg. The latter is known for Patchwork, Agricola and Caverna!
