In Near and Far you look for the lost ruin with the various maps. You do this by hiring adventurers, searching for treasure and becoming the most experienced traveler. You need to gather food and equipment for the long journey and don't forget to bring enough weapons to fight against criminals, living statues and rusty robots. Sometimes you come across something special during your travels and you have to read what happens to you in a book full of stories. This way you create a different story every game. Arzium is a world of ancient civilizations, bizarre characters, inexplicable wonders and colorful characters. A strange substance has spread into the air in the land, causing all types of characters to wander around in a dazed and disorganized manner. It's your job to find and wake up the wandering characters. Once you've found and awakened them, take them with you to search for even more lost characters in the realm of Arzium! The game is played in turns. The starting player starts. Then play continues clockwise. On your turn, you use the pattern of an available character to place travel stones in the playing area. Place your travel stones in the playing area in the shape and orientation indicated on the character's banner. Then turn the card over. You should place all the pattern's travel stones in the playing area, if possible. Blank squares on the playing card do not have to fit in the playing area. If there is already a travel marker of yours or another player on a space, you skip that space. You must place all other travel stones. On your turn you can either take a specialist action or a hero action. Specialists are friendly creatures that can perform a specific action for you. And the hero is you. When you perform a hero action you must first move, and then you can visit a location and perform the action depicted on it, fight a monster or investigate a location. In the introduction you do this by turning over a chip, but you can also play 6 chapters where you read the stories from a storybook and can make choices that have all kinds of different consequences for the game.
