Deep in the tropical jungle west of Everdell Valley lies the land of Emerland, a vibrant region known for its artistic and musical culture and its abundance of natural resources, including valuable gemstones from its many underground caves. The small creatures found here — especially insects — are meticulous and clever helpers who often assist larger animals with their work and with optimizing or beautifying their cities and homes.

The jungles are vast and densely overgrown, and expeditions to the more remote areas are commonplace. A mysterious civilization once lived here, long lost to history, but archaeological discoveries are beginning to shed more light on ancient times.

In Emerland, you send workers to various locations on the board to collect resources. With these resources, you play cards face up in front of you and build your jungle city, scoring points. In each turn, you choose 1 of 6 possible actions: place a worker (with or without helpers), place a helper, play a card, use a craft card, excavate with your archaeologist, or prepare for the season.
