Verdant is the successor to Calico and Cascadia. After creating a quilt and a habitat that is perfectly balanced, it is now time to make your house green with the most beautiful houseplants.
Collect furniture, pets and, above all, lots of plants to make your house completely green. The most important thing is to take good care of your plants. Verdant is a puzzle game for 1-5 players ages 10 and up, designed by Molly Johnson, Robert Melvin, Aaron Mesburne, Kevin Russ, and Shawn Stankewitch.
Each round, you take turns clockwise and take a plant card or room card and an item or care token from the market and add them to your personal playing area. During the game you add items to your house and try to complete as many plants as possible by taking good care of them.
On your turn, you take a card and a token from one column of your choice from the market and place them in your personal playing area. Each player builds up his personal playing area in a checkerboard pattern (5 cards wide and 3 cards long). All cards you place in your personal playing area must be placed adjacent to cards already placed. Try to meet the plant's light preferences to complete the plant. You complete plants by making them greener and finally placing a flower pot token on them. At the end of each turn, the market is replenished and a thumb token is placed on the unchosen card in the same column.
The end of the game is activated when each player has created a pattern of 5x3 cards in their personal playing area. In a game, each player has a turn exactly 13 times. Then the scoring follows. The player with the most points wins the game!
