The main mode of Nemesis: Aftermath is Epilogue Mode, a short (45-60 minute) 5-turn game played after a regular game. As this epilogue begins, an unspecified amount of time has passed since the events that took place in the base game of Nemesis. Players use characters (who were not part of the base game) to enter the Nemesis to investigate. The ship bears many scars from its previous travails, so remnants of your previous playthrough will have effects on your epilogue playthrough. An epilogue game is much shorter than a regular Nemesis game, but it is more difficult and offers a very dynamic playing experience. Instead of objectives, players must deal with seemingly simple personal requirements, while trying to work together to tackle various alerts. Additionally, players who pursue more selfish interests may accept lucrative offers. The players also use the additional Shuttle board, which represents a new small ship (moored at the Nemesis) consisting of 4 additional room slots. The Nemesis: Aftermath expansion also adds 4 new rooms. You can play the epilogue game with fewer players than the number who actually participated in the regular game. Nemesis: Aftermath adds an attribute card for each character (both from the base game and the expansion). Trait cards provide specific advantages and disadvantages during the game. The trait card is placed face up next to the character board, and its rule applies for the rest of the game. Nemesis: Aftermath adds 5 new characters to the game. When players choose their character, the character draft card they select allows them to choose either the base game or the Aftermath character of a chosen color. For example, the red Aftermath character (the convict) can replace the red base game character (the soldier). After choosing their character, each player keeps their selected draft card, preventing other players from having the option to choose the other character of the same color. The two red characters (the convict and the soldier) can never be together in the same game. The Aftermath characters are very different from the base game characters.

The Great Wall is a new asymmetrical worker placement game where you have to build a nice engine and protect yourself against the constantly attacking Mongol Horde. Players control ancient clans in China as they attempt to defend themselves against invading Mongol hordes while attempting to build The Great Wall. Although every player wants to win, sometimes they must work together to defend themselves against the hordes. Each clan will be asymmetrical due to the chosen leader and this asymmetry will increase as the game progresses due to the choices you make. The game is divided into four seasons. In the spring, new barbarian hordes invade the fields before the Great Wall and prepare to launch their attack. Summer is the time when generals prepare for attack and mobilize their troops. During the fall, players take turns playing command cards, resolving their effects and activating locations to gain various benefits. In winter, the last layer of defense is activated, after which the hordes try to attack the walls. Over the course of the game, players create their own unique engines based on their clan strength and interact with other players during all stages of the game, trying to get the most honor points, which can be earned in many different ways. Use cunning engineers to build ingenious, deadly machines and towers! Each player will be able to build towers (these are located between wall sections) and place chosen war machines on them. There are three varieties of war machines: cannons, missile batteries and powerful siege crossbows. In addition, each player gets a few upgrade cards to choose from, adding even more variety to the war machines. For example, one player may prefer to build multiple cheap cannons, while another player goes for a single strong one. Mongols brought siege engines! Some Hordes cards come with the special abilities of trying to break your walls. Defend yourself against battering rams, which will break your walls, catapults that will strike your archers, and Hordes with siege towers that will change the way you plan your defenses. They will try to counter your towers and hire miners to tear them down. New Hordes will add to the replayability while also being usable in base games. Each clan also sends out its elite warriors to join the battle - all clans have their own unique and extremely powerful soldier! You can upgrade one of your standard Soldier types to an elite. For example, the Snake Clan will upgrade their archers to Chu-Ko-Nu crossbowmen so they can quickly defeat any opponent. On the other hand, the Dragon Clan will equip some of their spearmen with fire lances. Rest assured they won't be cheap, but if you can recruit them early in the game you'll gain a huge advantage over the Hordes (and your opponents). This expansion also brings new generals, advisors and artifacts to further improve replayability and allow for more customization of your desired tactics. Additionally, this expansion introduces Tech-Trees that create new exciting development opportunities for each clan. With those cards you can adjust your strategy and invest in towers, war machines or improved army units!

An add-on during the Tainted Grail Kickstarter campaign. It includes a personal achievement sheet for each character from all three campaigns, including Niamh. This sheet lists 9 special conditions that activate 9 unique memories. If you meet a condition during the game, you can check it off and read an appropriate reminder from the "Echoes of the Past" brochure. These memories have a small gameplay effect (sometimes positive, sometimes negative). But as you progress through the game and your character progresses in their story of self-discovery or reconciliation, you'll also earn some interesting rewards. Each time you complete a block of three achievements, you will receive a Legendary Action Card that you keep with your character board. You can use these once to perform a single action so epic that bards will be singing tales of you for years to come. The legendary action card is then removed from the game. If you manage to trigger ALL the basic memories, you will move on to the final, tenth entry in the brochure which contains a personal side-quest in which your hero will confront his greatest fears, weaknesses, or a personal nemesis. If they emerge victorious, they will receive a special golden Legendary Action card that permanently gives your character a second gameplay action! The blades can be used as a legacy element, allowing your hero to start a new game with part of their story and some Heroic Feats cards already unlocked.
