In this communicative card game, players trade with their beans and grow them in their fields. Who will steal the best beans from the other players and earn the most money? Each player receives 5 bean cards and must keep them in order in his hand. Furthermore, each player has two bean fields. He may grow one type of beans on each of them. On your turn, you must grow the first card and the second card from your hand. Then you reveal two new bean cards, which you can keep or trade. You may also trade cards from your hand. This can be useful, because a bean field is worth more if it contains more cards of a kind. And if you have to grow a species that is not available, you have to sell another. And that may come too soon... However, you can choose once per game to buy an extra bean field for three thalers. The game ends when the stack of bean cards has been played through three times. You may be able to convince your trading partner to do business with you if you offer them a favor later in the game, but remember – a promise is a promise and a reward is what comes with it. In this Boona Nostra expansion you not only trade with beans and bean dollars, but also with favors. Each player chooses a character card and the corresponding six favor cards. The favor allows players to improve their offers in the trading phase. The player who receives the promise places the favor in front of him. Each player has a maximum of three favors available at the same time, which he can give to his fellow players while trading. The favors can be exchanged at different stages of the game and the player who promised the favor cannot resist at that point. In this expansion of Boonanza you follow in the footsteps of the famous traveling salesman Marco Boono. You make a journey through the desert in search of the golden vine. You make this journey by completing assignment cards. Each completed assignment card brings you one step closer. Examples of assignment cards include collecting a certain type of bean or selling a crop for 3 coins or more. You may also take steps by skipping assignment cards. Each step costs you a coin, which you normally earn from harvesting. But you also need those same coins to win the game! Only by making the right tactical choices can you win the race to the golden rank.

Expand Boonanza with the Heilige Boontjes! This expansion introduces new rules, a special type of bean, the new offering cards and alternative bean fields. The new bean fields contain a Monastery Garden and a Godena Field. The new bean variety Sacred Beans are a kind of wild card. You may only plant them in the new Monastery Garden, but they may be used in combination with any bean variety. During trading phases, Holy Beans give a so-called divine message. These are additional rules, such as “you may not trade with the player to your right”. The offering cards allow you to plant two different types of beans on top of each other on the Godena field at the same time. You can thus prepare a harvest consisting of different bean varieties, where the top bean determines how many coins are scored.
