Dark times hang over the kingdom of Thebes. The blind, aged King Oedipus has abandoned the throne in disgrace and asked his sons, Polyneices and Eteocles, to rule the city together. But power corrupts, and old feuds demand new blood. Soon, Polyneices leads an army from the rival city of Argos against his own brother. The Theban nobles support Eteocles, who is struggling to maintain his authority in the city. The young king calls for the defense of the seven city gates, while seven champions of the attacking forces launch their assault. Meanwhile, the famed citadel of Thebes, the Cadmea, lies in ruins; it has been neglected since the time of Oedipus's father, King Laius. It is as if the Fates themselves have turned against the current rulers of Thebes. While the common people prepare for war, the nobles whisper that it's time for new leadership—and that the rebuilding of the Cadmea must begin now! But restoring the glory of this sacred birthplace of Dionysus, god of the grape himself, is no easy task, especially with enemies at the gates. In Thebai, players take on the role of influential leaders of noble families during the turbulent late Bronze Age. Throughout the game, they work to rebuild Cadmea, Thebes' stronghold, restoring the city's exports, offering sacrifices to the city gods, and protecting the people, while heroes deny each other life outside the gates. Thebai is an interactive, challenging Euro game that approaches dice-placement mechanics in an innovative and tactical way. Players collaboratively create the available actions on the main game board, while carefully managing their personal skills and long-term strategies. Each turn offers exciting and rewarding choices: use unlocked actions on your player board, or place your dice on the shared board to promote them to powerful council members. This opens up unique scoring opportunities and triggers powerful combos. Inspired by Greek mythology, Thebai immerses you in the conflict between Polyneices and Eteocles. Defend the seven gates of Thebes, navigating through deep strategy, positive player interaction, and thematic tension—every step of the way.

One of these cards lets you play projects, while the other three allow you to add animals to their respective habitats: forest, rock, or water. Animal Kingdom is based on its predecessor , Ark Nova , but simplifies and refines many of the game's mechanics in an elegant and surprising way. The challenge of cleverly integrating animals, buildings, and projects into your zoo map remains engaging and offers new strategic possibilities with every play session.

In Men Nefer , players immerse themselves in an atmospheric Egyptian theme. Fans of Bitoku will recognize the action selection mechanism. In Bitoku , you choose from three options each turn: play a card, place a die, or move a die across the river. Men Nefer uses a similar system, where you also choose from three possible actions each time. Each round begins with the playing of an action tile. This determines which of the five rows of the action track you place a worker on. The second action of a turn is to perform an action on that track, provided you've previously placed a worker there. Finally, as the third action, you choose a new action tile, which you can use in the following round. This ensures a clear game structure. Still, as you might expect from German P. Millán ( Bitoku , Sabika ), the game offers a wide range of possibilities. You can unlock mummies and sphinxes and then place them on the board. You can move priestesses in temples, make donations there, and ascend the obelisk track. Donating requires you to buy goods, and you can also purchase papyruses for points. Sailing on the river yields bonuses and scoring tiles. You can help build the King's and Queen's Pyramids. And by cleverly moving your heart and pen along the track, you avoid negative points and ultimately score points. So, there are many possibilities, but you'll have to make clear choices. The tiles in the Queen's Pyramid vary from game to game, meaning the point distribution is different each time. The unique bonuses for placing mummies, the scoring tiles on the river, and the ruler tile in the temple also ensure that no game is the same, and your strategy must be adjusted each time. Each round, each player has nine actions: three times the three possible actions. After each round, all scores are tallied. Then, round two begins, followed by round three, which proceed in the same way. After each of the three rounds, there is an identical scoring, with scores generally increasing each round. Men Nefer also has a very accessible and logical solo mode. The AI follows a few simple rules and performs virtually the same actions as a human player, but it doesn't have to comply with all the costs and conditions you, as a player, do.

In Ora et Labora (Latin for 'Pray and Work'), each player is the head of a monastery in the Middle Ages who acquires land and constructs buildings. They are, so to speak, small businesses that provide resources and profits. The goal is to build a working infrastructure and craft prestigious items - such as books, ceramics, ornaments and relics - to gain the most victory points at the end of the game. Ora et Labora, Uwe Rosenberg's fifth "major" game, has game mechanics similar to his Le Havre, such as two-sided resource cards that can be upgraded from a basic item to something more useful. Instead of adding resources to the board every turn as in Agricola and Le Havre, Ora et Labora uses a numbered rondel to show how much of each resource is available at any time. At the start of each round, players spin the rondel one segment, adjusting the counts of all resources at once. Each player has a personal game board. New buildings enter the game from time to time, and players can build them on their game boards with the building materials they collect, with some terrain restrictions on what can be built where. Some spaces start with trees or swamps on them, and these hinder development until a player clears the land, but they also provide resources when removed. Smart building on your personal game board will influence your final score, and players can purchase additional terrain during the game if necessary. Players also have three workers who can enter buildings to take the action associated with that location. Workers must remain in place until you have placed all three. You can enter your own buildings with these workers, but to enter and use another player's buildings you must pay that player an entrance fee so that he moves one of his workers into that building to do the work for you . Ora et Labora has two variants: France and Ireland.

“These fields no longer yield as much grain as they used to,” complains the farmer. “We need to cultivate new land before our food runs out. Why don’t we start growing olives, just like our neighbors?” The carter nods. “Since those city folk started revering San Giorgio, I have to drive further and further to new construction sites. I’m currently on my way to the new inn they’ve built. There, I’ll change horses and deliver this load,” he nods towards the pile of wood on the cart, “to the sea further on. They’re going to start fisheries there. They say we’ll conquer those olive growers soon. But their land is even more polluted than ours.” The farmer nods back. As the cart starts moving again, he returns to the field to harvest the last bushels of grain, growing among the stumps of what was once a lush forest — 3 turns ago. Antiquity is a strategy game for 2–4 players, set in an environment loosely modeled after Italy in the late Middle Ages. Players choose their own victory condition: you can focus on population growth, trade, conquest, or city building by choosing your patron saint. Each strategy requires a completely different playstyle. You can also choose to revere Santa Maria, the most powerful saint of all, but then you are expected to build a civilization twice as impressive as any other player's. While your economy constantly strengthens and increasingly developed cities give you new options each turn, the land surrounding your cities slowly becomes exhausted. This forces you to travel further and further to gather resources, until eventually there is no land left to cultivate. Hopefully, one of you will have won the game before that moment arrives.

Our current CEO is stepping down in three years, and the supervisor who has the most influence at the end will take his place. On your turn, you will deploy a worker to perform two actions in the ever-expanding network, launching a ship and sending one of your workers into space as a pilot, or recalling all of your workers to Earth to collect funding bonuses. Actions include acquiring blueprints, building ships, attracting guests, and developing connections between locations that increase your choice of actions throughout the game. You will also influence the resource markets, which rise and fall based on the actions of all players. When you launch a ship, one of your workers will join it as a pilot, navigating the ship to various destinations and “days in space” where guests will reward you for all your hard work. Throughout the game, you will also compete with your fellow supervisors to achieve company goals, which will earn you progress cubes throughout the game. Progress cubes are also placed when you launch ships, and when a certain number of cubes have been placed on the company progress track, the game ends and the player with the most Victory Points becomes the new CEO of Galactic Cruise. Do you still think you have what it takes to work for us? Yes? Great. Let's get started.
