Arkham Horror: The Card Game Revised Core Set is a cooperative Living Card Game set in the early 20th century. As unspeakable evil and terrifying horrors seek to enter our world, one to four investigators attempt to unravel all the mysteries and conspiracies before it's too late.
Each player takes on the role of one of these researchers. During your turn you can play cards, move your investigator from location to location, look for clues, or attack and hopefully defeat a monster. Once all players have had their turn, the Mythos phase begins, in which new threats arise that you will have to deal with. If you take too long, the enemy's agenda will advance, which could lead to an unfavorable outcome for the scenario!
But what's new about the Revised Core Set? To be honest, nothing has changed about the game itself. This is still the Arkham Horror: The Card Game that many have come to know and love. The rules are the same, the campaign is the same, the experience is the same. Even the cards are largely the same, with the only difference being a number of new cards that are great for new players.
The contents of the box have received an organizational upgrade, meaning it's much easier to find specific cards than before. Additionally, some additional quality improvements have been made, such as new numbered resources and clue/threat tokens, and even a lead investigator token!
The Games Friends: " One of our favorite games! We think it's really cool that you can upgrade your character and deck during the game and that the choices you make in the game have direct consequences in the story. "
